Jungle Hammock

Imagine yourself traveling to the jungle, it must be an amazing and incredible experience. When you plan going to the jungle or places with a similar environment, being well equipped is of great importance in order to have an perfect trip. Think of what can happen if key objects such as matches get wetĄ

The most important thing is to be sure that the jungle hammock is waterproof. In the jungle rain falls and lasts for up to 3 days non stop. It must be able to keep the inside of the hammock dry even in heavy rain conditions, whatever the direction of the raindrops.

In the jungle there are extreme wet conditions and a jungle hammock is specially designed for this . It is extra-long and extra-strong with a sturdy YKK zipper which you can open from the outside or the inside. The dark colored netting will keep out mosquitoes, no-see-ums, and black flies, and the elastic cords will keep the netting away from your face and body.

In the jungle, the best prophylactic is "not to get bitten", the jungle hammock is designed to keep you from being bitten from insects and prevent diseases such as malaria, sleeping disease and dengue fever that are very common in this environment. Besides this, it is very hard to rest with mosquitoes and buzzing around all night.

The main idea of sleeping way up in the air is having no contact with the floor so insects won't crawl inside. If a jungle hammock doesn't seal well it just won't work.

Some important characteristics that jungle hammocks must have are:

- Compartments for storing small items such as pocket knives, flashlights, clothes, shoes, matches and maps. - Easy access and exit. - Mosquito nets. - Well balanced. - Good ventilation in order to receive fresh air.

You have to be well organized and know where you can find your equipment. Just imagine how annoying it would be to spend 30 minutes each morning looking for your stuff. You should never leave socks for example, on the camp ground because they can become a new hiding place for a scorpion or snake.

Knowing how to get off the hammock is a must, when your out camping anything can happen: somebody can be drowning, a wild animal can be nearby or a fire can be out of control. Initial learning and following instructions of jungle hammocks is of great importance in order to master how to get out of the hammock in a breeze.

The jungle hammock comes with two 12 foot long(1/2" nylon web) straps. The ends of the hammock are reinforced for the strap to pass through, and these straps can easily be slid out and replaced by a longer rope if desired. This system allows the hammock to fold up neatly into a very small size.

The stuff sack for jungle hammock and fly measures 13" high x 6" wide and weighs 1.6 kgs (3.5 lbs). This hammock can also be used on the ground or on the bed as a personal "mosquito tent" if you don't like sleeping in hammocks (or if there are no trees nearby).

When you go camping you want to have fun and a good time so always take with you a jungle hammock and be prepared for a lot of excitement.
